News Broadcasting Teams and Government Ofiicials of America. Stop trying to turn hurricane Katrina into reality TV. I already sympathize with the plight of the people of New Orleans (it's the one part of the South that I actually like). I don't need to see a million sob stories. And don't try to soften me by telling us repeatedly that there's no help. If a news team can get to the Southerners, the Peace Corps can get to them.
I don't care how many shots were fired or lootings occurred. This is just that half of the countrie's primary nature, just like it's my nature to be logical and cynical. We dropped care packages into Afghanistan 4 years ago. Why is that so hard in Louisiana? This just feels like a bid to gain support for GWB (remember the photo-op of him handing out a few bags of ice?). There's no help and no helicopters coming, yet he can take not one, but two trips around to the area to spot the damage from the comfort of his private helicopter? Please. Help your bread and butter George.
